Tifosi Rx FAQ

Prescription from your eyecare professional.  PD is a requirement that needs to be submitted on your prescription.  If you are ordering a progressive RX please ensure your ADD power is included on your written prescription.

Pick your frame and the options that come up as you go through the process, at the end you will be asked to upload your RX from your eyecare professional.  Please ensure the PD is on the prescription before upload.  Upload, pay and your prescription order will be processed.

Polycarbonate lenses are a shatterproof, scratch-resistant material therefore an excellent choice for a sports wearer.

AR stands for anti-reflective coating. It is a coating that is applied to the surface of the lens. AR coating is designed to cut down glare off objects/surfaces and allows more light through to your eyes. AR also repels oil and smudges as well as moisture and water. AR coating is included to mirror options

Digital surface is the newest process in prescription lenses manufacturing that optimizes the optical clarity, edge to edge clarity and minimizes distortion. A digital surface is especially important for stronger prescriptions to provide better and more improved optics. Non digital lenses are made by an abrasive grinding process and does not optimize the optical clarity as a digital lens.

PD stands for pupil distance. Visit and ask your current eyecare provider for your PD distance. Tifosi cannot fill a RX prescription order without PD.

Our prescription lenses are not interchangeable. Our prescription lenses must be mounted into the frame by our lab to ensure a secure fit, and due to this, they should not be removed and remounted. Doing so can result in damage to the lenses or frame that will not be covered under warranty.

We do not offer an option to order only replacement lenses. Prescription lenses must be mounted into the frames by our lab to ensure a secure fit, thus we only sell frames and lenses together.

If this is your first pair of wrapped or curved prescription lenses (in our Alpe 2.0, Dolomite 2.0, Rivet, Shutout, Vero, and Wisp models), sometimes our eyes have to go through a small adjustment period to learn how to see out of that style of lens and the way the prescription is made. We normally recommend trying the glasses out for small increments every day, about 5-10 minutes at a time doing safe tasks, and seeing if you notice your eyes becoming used to the lenses and the lenses becoming clearer to you. If after a week or two of this you are still having issues seeing through the lenses, please let us know and we can have the optics checked to insure they are correct and make any adjustments if necessary.

Yes! If the glasses you ordered are a wrapped or curved style lens (in our Alpe 2.0, Dolomite 2.0, Rivet, Shutout, Vero, and Wisp models), your prescription may have needed to be adjusted by our lab to account for the curvature of the lens. This ensures that the prescription that your eyes are looking through, in combination with the lens curvature, matches the prescription that you submitted.
