Hometown: Boynton Beach, FL

Activity: Running, cycling and swimming (in that order!)

Words I Live By: Live, love and learn!

Reason(s) Why I Train: Because I love to eat! Okay, not the main reason but a part of it. I like to feel healthy and love the feeling I get from a good workout. I travel a lot for work and it’s always great to see a city while running through it! Plus, I am lucky enough to have my fiancée as one of the best training partners and I need to be able to keep up with her in the marathons we run together!

A Goal that Stokes Me: The main goal I have at the moment is to run all the World Marathon Majors with a time less than 4:00:00. London is the only one left on the list I have yet to get into and run although my time for New York City was just over four hours so I’ll be back to the boroughs again too! Secondary to that is to train for my first Ironman.

Favorite Accomplishment: The accomplishment I am most proud of is completing my first 70.3 triathlon. I had barely trained for the swim but worked hard at running and biking and managed a time just over 6:00:00! My first 50 mile running event is a close second although that was more painful!

Causes I Care About: I ran the New York Marathon raising money for Team for Kids as I love that they give kids the chance to learn to love running and to stay healthy! I try to inspire those around me and that charity gave me an opportunity to do the same for kids I’d not even met. I’ll also run any races that raise money for heart disease or diabetes as I’ve lost family members to both diseases.

Why Tifosi?: Tifosi was the very first pair of running sunglasses I bought when I first started running in 2009 and I have been a fan ever since! I have very sensitive eyes when it comes to bright sunshine and living in Florida it was important to have the right lens to allow me to see well and Tifosi has always delivered. I often have to run at the end of the day in lower light and the Fototec lenses are perfect for those runs!

Favorite Accomplishment: 2 marathons within 14days early this yr (knee issue 6weeks before race) but I finished, wasn't sure if I could do marathon training again signed up 2 more this fall and was able to finish and PR, never stopping trying.

A Goal that Stokes Me: Chasing that BQ would love to run in Boston or new York!

Causes I Care About: St Jude's especially after running it this weekend, relay for Life is big in our community, bullying people and animals.

Reason(s) Why I Train: To better my health reason I started running and to become more active. Since then I have aided in others becoming more active to better there life. I enjoy watching my running buddies grow in there journey just as much as I want to grow. We now have a more active community of runners and it continues to grow.

Why Tifosi? I had seen them on Instagram, hubby brought them for me at my first marathon and they are so light weight I fell in love! He even got him a pair, since then few running buddies have as well.

Words I Live By: Beast Mode On!

Reason(s) Why I Train: Pure and simple…I love to run…any distance. I may have slowed down over the years but I give it all I got every time I’m out on the roads.

A Goal that Stokes Me: Training for the next race! That and racing with my soon-to-be wife, Jodi Thore, also a Tifosi Ambassador. We hope to show that couples can run together and have fun doing it!

Favorite Accomplishment: Running the Little Rock half marathon six months after having Achilles tendon surgery. The surgeon told me I would never run again. Six marathons and more than 20 half marathons later, I proved him wrong!

Causes I Care About: Team Red, White and Blue.

Why Tifosi?: My girlfriend bought me a pair as a running gift. She says it was because she felt guilty about all the money I was spending on her so she surprised me one day with a new pair. That was a year ago and now won’t even consider going on a run without them or wearing anything else!

Words I Live By: Be kind, always.

Favorite Accomplishment: Qualifying for the 2016 Olympic Trials in the Marathon

A Goal that Stokes Me: Qualifying for the 2020 Olympic trials in the marathon.

Causes I Care About: Type 1 Diabetes - finding a cure - my 9 year old was diagnosed a year ago with Type 1 diabetes.

Reason(s) Why I Train: Running has given me the confidence to be who I was meant to be in this world. I think marathon training and running is one of the greatest analogies for life - you get out of it what you put into. It has taught me to set big goals and expect that the sky is the limit. I train to challenge myself. I train because it is the thing in life that gives me my personal space and time.

Why Tifosi? Tifosi works. I need eye protection without the distraction of feeling like something is on my face. I'm a minimalist runner - and these feel good and they look awesome.

Words I Live By: “If it doesn’t challenge you, it won’t change you” Favorite Accomplishment: Running three marathons, specifically tackling the hills (mountains) of San Francisco!

A Goal that Stokes Me: Qualifying for the Boston marathon (running a 3:35 marathon time). After that, running a sub-3 hour marathon! Never settling 🙂

Causes I Care About: I’m passionate about running for a cause that gives back to the community. I’ve ran as part of the Ronald McDonald Housing Charity and Team One Step (sending kids with cancer to camp) teams! It truly is an incredible feeling to raise funds and run for such incredible causes!

Reason(s) Why I Train: I started running as a de-stressor from college studying. Each run I’d challenge myself to run further, or a bit faster than before. I accidentally developed a love for distance running because it pushed me mentally, physically, and emotionally to put one foot in front of the other and never give up. There are no limitations in the sport either. After I accomplish one goal, the next is right on deck! I can’t wait to see where this hobby of mine will take me in 2018!

Why Tifosi?: I admire the platform that Tifosi stands for - quality, style, function, and value. Ambassadors of this brand should look to motivate, encourage, and support other individuals in their sports! One of my favorite aspects of running races is meeting others who share the same exhilarating home by that I have! I’d greatly value the opportunity to be an ambassador for a dependable company such as Tifosi.

Running

Home - Reno, NV

Activity - Distance runner (Road & Trail), OCR pro athlete, Ultra trail runner

Words I live by - "Do or do not, there is no try"! - Yoda

Reasons why I train - I train because that's really all I've ever know since middle school. Whether it be for cross country, college basketball, marathons, or Spartan racing...I train to stay in shape and compete at the highest possible level.

A goal that stokes me - that would be winning the Spartan World Championships! Not very realistic but doable. A more reasonable goal would be to win a Spartan race in 2017.

Favorite accomplishment - being a father and being with my wife for almost 16 years! Running...? There's a couple. Placing 2nd at the Disneyland half marathon, finishing 8th overall at the St. George Marathon in a time of 2:28, my first podium finish in Spartan racing, running for Skechers Performance for the past 5 years, and running for Tifosi Optics for the past 2 years!

Causes I care about - childrens fitness/health programs in school. To think that some schools don't even offer PE anymore or it's an elective makes me sick. It was never an option when I was in school, it's just what you did. And the crap the schools feed the kids is sad. We have an 8 year old in 2nd grade and his school options for food are awful. 90% of the time we pack him a lunch.

Why Tifosi - Well since I've been wearing them and representing them for the past 2 years, I've worn nothing else. Training, racing, casual...you name it, there's eyewear for any occasion. I love the variety of styles for both men and women and I especially love the photo optic lenses. They're comfortable and never slip no matter what the conditions are outside!

Words I live by: For me it is important to not follow the path of others but to embrace my individuality and be true to myself and those around me as a husband, father and friend. I always include this reminder in my social media posts with the hastag #beyourselfbetruedrivehard

Reasons why I train: From my childhood through my professional career as a firefighter, maintaining a level of fitness has been a large part of my life. For me there is always value in training whether the benefit is physical, psychological or a combination of either. Bottom line is that the sweat game will always be a part of mine.

Favorite accomplishment: The family that my wife Rebecca and I have created is without a doubt the pinnacle of my accomplishments. Athletically speaking, was running and completing my first 50 miler. I had never before nor since been overcome with emotion during a race and there is truth to the saying "you always remember your first".

Why Tifosi: I have used Tifosi Optics for many years in all of my outdoor activities for both winter and summer sports. I have always appreciated the quality, reasonable pricing and a commitment to producing a product that meets the demand of the athlete.

Words I Live By: Keep fighting that good fight!

Favorite Accomplishment: I have too many to pick just one. One of them was when I became a special education teacher which is what I love to do for a living. It is very rewarding and I love interacting with students with disabilities. Another one of my favorite accomplishements is service and giving back. I coach a team of wonderful volunteers and cancer survivors, which I have been doing so for over for over four years now. Helping others and sharing my knowledge of running and health is at the core of my values. It is extremely humbling and an honor to be able to do so.

A Goal that Stokes Me: Finishing my first marathon in NYC this November and raising money for cancer along the way!

Causes I Care About: Ulman Cancer Fund, JDRF are some of the many causes I support on a yearly basis.

Reason(s) Why I Train: I train because I love everything about healthy living. I train to stay healthy, avoid health problems, and avoid gaining unnecessary weight. I train because I love the feeling of a really awesome sweat session. I train to inspire others and because I have the ability to do so.

Why Tifosi? I already am a customer and fan. They just work for any and all activities. They are stylish. They are comfortable. They stay on your face because of the fit. They come in many sexy colors too!

Favorite Accomplishment: Crossing the finish line of my first marathon in February 2016.

A Goal that Stokes Me: Working as a personal trainer and blogger full time.

Causes I Care About: Sandy Hook Charity, Girls on the Run.

Reason(s) Why I Train: Fitness and running have become a major part of my life, especially in the past few years. I'm from Connecticut originally and moved to southern California as a travel nurse. Back home I was forced to run and workout indoors the majority of the year. Since I've moved to California, I've made it a priority to make time for myself and enjoy the outdoors and the scenery around me. I work as a registered nurse in the ICU so I see what can happen if people don't take care of themselves. I just want to live the best life possible and I love the way running and being healthy make me feel. Every time I sign up for a race, it gives me a new goal to reach for.

Words I Live By: If it doesn't have a liability waiver its not worth doing!

Reason(s) Why I Train: To continue to see how fast and how far I can really go, to be healthy so that I can be an active and inspiring father to my three girls.

A Goal that Stokes Me: In 2018 I am most excited to be racing a bucket-list race in South Africa, the 56 mile Comrades - the worlds largest and oldest ultramarathon.

Favorite Accomplishment: In 2016 I ran 2 hours and 31 minutes at the Toronto Waterfront Marathon, pushing my then 4-year-old daughter in a stroller breaking the previous Guinness World Record. It was an amazing experience to share with Aley every step of the way and one of my best executed performances.

Causes I Care About: Hurricane Harvey hit our community here in Katy and surrounding Houston really hard. During the few weeks of flooding I was involved heavily with organizing rescue and relief efforts. Outside of that I am passionate about children's health and activity, keeping our parks clean, and our streets and pathways pedestrian and cycle friendly.

Why Tifosi?: I'm all about efficiency and performance and could quickly tell that Tifosi represented those same qualities with their product. I train hard, travel lots, and race even harder, Tifosi is eye-wear that can keep up with those demands while not breaking the bank either. Since I race everything from mountain trails to track, road, and cross country, one mile to ultramarathon, I also need eye-wear that's adaptable and versatile, Tifosi fits my lifestyle perfect with the line of frames and interchangeable lenses that look great even when I'm not running.

Words I live by? Pain is temporary but quitting is forever!

Reason why I train? I run because I can. I train hard to see if I can do something I once thought was impossible. A healthy body creates a healthy mind!

A goal that stokes me? To continue to travel the world and run as many marathons as I can in as many cities as I can. Next Major is Chicago 2019. Boston will be mine!

Favourite accomplishment? For me completing the TCS NYC Marathon was my favourite accomplishment and not because I did well. It in fact went nothing like I had hoped. So it was perfect! Perfect in the sense that it has motivated me like nothing else in a long time. A negative that has forced a positive.

Causes I care about? Oakville Trafalgar Memorial Hospital’s Mental Health Department. OTMH’s mental health team includes approximately 120 staff and 20 psychiatrists, providing support to more than 1600 women annually, including 150 girls (17 and under.) OTMH offers care and treatment for people in our community struggling with anxiety, depression, mood and panic disorders, eating disorders and other mental health related illnesses. Also Cancer awareness. I have run races in support of breast cancer research and awareness. I have lost too many family members and friends to this illness but know many who are still fighting.

Why Tifosi? I love the brand. They were the first pair of sports glasses I bought at a local run shop and I still have them. Super durable, great looking and they don’t break the bank. I’ve tried many but nothing beats my Tifosi!

Words I Live By: Never Give Up!

Favorite Accomplishment: I was told by a cardiologist in 2010 that I needed to stop running after a genetic heart condition was discovered. After a second opinion and a successful surgery to fix one of the problems, I have run 7 marathons and 31 half marathons.

A Goal that Stokes Me: I would love to BQ one day and to run an ultra marathon. I am always looking to do something bigger and better than the last even if it is to improve a race time or lift heavier.

Causes I Care About: I am passionate about any event that benefits cancer. Mygrnadmother passed away from non-Hodgkins lymphoma and my father is battling prostate cancer for the third time. Cancer has affected many member is my family and friends.

Reason(s) Why I Train: I train for me. I train for my job. I train because I want to be healthy and live a long life. After the diagnosis of a genetic heart condition, I was unsure how it would affect my running. The procedure I had for part of this condition was successful and it has improved my running and overall health. Running has been my peace in the darkest times and the happiest of times. When I'm told I can't do something, this drives me to work that much harder to prove to myself that I can! All of these things are why I train hard every single day!

Why Tifosi? I have several friends that wear Tifosi and they rave about how they don't fog up and the fit of several different styles. When I tried them on, I loved how they fit my face and that there were many styles to choose from.

Words I Live By: “Don’t be afraid to dream of achieving the impossible” – Shalane Flanagan

Reason(s) Why I Train: I started running shortly after my daughter was born. I had post-partum depression and set a goal of running a half-marathon, as a stress-reliever and because I needed something else to focus on. I got hooked! These days, I continue to run to model an active lifestyle and to show her that hard work and perseverance pay off.

A Goal that Stokes Me: I always have a goal to get faster, but my end goal is to be a lifelong runner and active into old age.

Favorite Accomplishment: Qualifying for and running my first Boston Marathon in 2016.

Causes I Care About: As a mother, childhood obesity is something I care deeply about. Eating disorder awareness is important to me because I suffered from anorexia in my late-teens/early-20’s.

Why Tifosi?: I found Tifosi while searching for running sunglasses several years ago. I couldn’t find something that looked good and also didn’t cost a fortune (I’d rather spend my money on running shoes and race entries!) I found Tifosi Optics at my local running store and was impressed by the look, quality, and options (interchangeable lenses!) at a great price-point. I wear Tifosi for all of my daytime runs and love how I can change out the lenses depending on the light. They always stay on my face, don’t fog up, and allow me to keep my face relaxed, thereby conserving energy.

Words to Live By: "To give anything less than your best is to sacrifice the gift." - Steve Prefontaine

Reasons Why I Train: I started running as a way to stay in shape but it has become so much more than that. I now run because it's my escape. It's my joy. I run to chase goals and to improve. To push my body beyond its limits and prove just how much it can do. As a new Mom I now run to show my son how important it is to be active and go after your goals - no matter how big they may seem. To teach him to truly dream BIG!

A Goal That Stokes Me: My current goal I'm chasing is to run the Boston Marathon at 4 months postpartum. Once I've accomplished that on April 17th, I'll be focusing on continuing to chase my marathon PR. I'd love to break 3:15 and then one day my dream is to break 3:00 hours. I've got a long way to go but I keep chasing those dreams every day.

Favorite Accomplishments: First and foremost is my son - he's pretty awesome! When it comes to running - cutting 1 hour and 9 minutes off my marathon PR in one training cycle and qualify for the Boston Marathon! I work each and every day to keep chasing new accomplishments!

Causes I Care About: I love empowering women to go after their dreams. That is why I document all my training on my blog and social media. I ran through my pregnancy and postpartum and want to show women that even as a Mom you don't have to let go of your dreams. Keep training, keep focused, and you can still accomplish anything you set your mind to!

Why Tifosi: Tifosi stands for all that I do. They encourage their athletes to chase big dreams. They also provide a superior product for the athlete that goes out there every day to chase their dreams.

Reason(s) I Train: I paid for it!! Being diagnosed with Hashimoto’s Thyroiditis and having my energy plummet at times, the fact that I have signed up for an event keeps me accountable!! I guess, I should have said for the health of it!!

A Goal that Stokes Me: I have the idea of someday running an Ultra, all the miles in one day!!

Favorite Accomplishment: Gasparilla Ultra Challenge 2016, 30.4 miles over 2 days. A 15k and 5k on Saturday, Half Marathon and 8k on Sunday. Going back in 2017!!

Causes I care about: Team RWB!! Being retired Air Force, this team is near and dear to my heart.

Team RWB’s mission is to enrich the lives of America’s veterans by connecting them to their community through physical and social activity.

Why Tifosi?: Well, the cool factor of course!! But…with a pingueculae (a small raised patch close to the cornea caused by exposure to sunlight, dust, or wind) on my right eye Tifosi has me covered!! I prefer larger lenses that help to block the wind, not to mention the UVA/UVB protection and Glare Guard!!

A Goal that Stokes Me: Placing top ten at the 2020 Olympic Trials in the marathon Causes I Care About: Helping form healthy attitudes about fitness and running - especially pertaining to proper fueling and goal-setting.

I also train to be connected to my community and bond with others who love staying active and healthy, and by learning from them and sharing my own story.

Words I Live By: "We rise by lifting others."

Favorite Accomplishment: Finishing The Rut 50k Ultra Skyrunner World Series Final in the top 10 (Female Overall) was by far one my favorite accomplishments this past summer. Considered one of the toughest most technical mountain races in the Country with stellar competition, it was a privilege to have experienced such a beautiful challenge.

A Goal that Stokes Me: Making my long life goal of qualifying for the Olympic Trials in the marathon into a reality is the goal I am looking forward to accomplishing this upcoming 2018. Won't stop until I make it happen.

Causes I Care About: Helping at-risk youth in underprivileged neighborhoods around the Los Angeles area achieve their goal of training for and completing the Los Angeles marathon is a cause I greatly care about. The running program is called Students Run L.A., and the money donated and time volunteered by caring people like myself has impacted the lives of thousands of youth in a positive way.

Reason(s) Why I Train: Seeing and motivating change in myself and in others is one of the most significant reasons for why I train. As I am working to qualify for the Olympic trials in the marathon this upcoming year, I want others to realize that they too can accomplish any goal they set their mind to.

My goal is that my positivity, commitment, grit, and perseverance empowers people to run and be active. And to be courageous as they chase after their personal goals one step at a time. This makes my journey as a runner a much more gratifying experience.

Why Tifosi?: As a runner living in sunny Southern California and spending many hours a week running on the trails and roads, protective eyewear is essential. I came across a pair of Tifosi sunglasses while shopping for good quality eyewear at REI this past summer. I loved the stylish comfortable fit while using them on my runs. I then learned more about Tifosi optics and realized that not only is the company committed to offering customers high quality eyewear, but they are also dedicated at teaming up with passionate athletes like myself to enhance and promote their brand through this ambassador program; all while contributing in helping the athletes achieve their goals. This has motivated me to want to promote Tifosi on social media, in group runs with friends, or in casual conversations with my fellow outdoor enthusiasts. Whether chasing PR's on a road marathon, a Mountain Ultra trail race, or simply on a trail hike, I want to exemplify how Tifosi Optics is there to enhance my performance with quality comfort and style.

Activity: Competitive Cycling.

Words I Live By: Sound body, sound mind.

Reason(s) Why I Train: To feel alive.

A Goal that Stokes Me: Training as hard as I can to peak for a specific event — and being in the zone during a race.

Favorite Accomplishment: Winning the Sea Otter Classic Criterium a few years ago. Prior to the start I dedicated the race to my dad who had passed away just a week prior. I actually didn’t know if I was going to race and at the start line I was a total wreck. I had been bottling up my feelings for days. And when I raced, I rode on pure emotions, leaving everything out on the course. While this wasn’t the biggest victory of my life, it carries the most meaning to me. I suppose that being admitted to the California Bar as an attorney ranks up there too.

Why Tifosi?: Value and quality. For years I have enjoyed the high speed red fototec (photochromatic) lenses for early morning rides in Pebble Beach, where half the ride is sunlight and the other half is in a drizzling cloud. The Marzens are my go-to glasses for hanging out at the beach or poolside, or just driving in the California sun. And more recently I have really come to appreciate the interchangeable lens options on the Escalates.

Reason(s) Why I Train: To keep up with fellow ambassador, Rob Griffin, my husband. Lol. I train to keep my body and my mind the best they can be for overall well-being, and to motivate others that you can directly change yourself to lead healthier and therefore more fulfilling lives . Whatever your goals are, you can achieve it.

A Goal that Stokes Me: 2017 has been a year of training hard to advance to Cat 2 Mt biking racing in 2018. This requires longer ride time, pushing my body past the hurt and outside my comfort zone. In other words, embrace the suck!

Favorite Accomplishment: In my first year of mt bike racing, I won the 2016 MBAA State Series Championship and USA Cycling Mt Bike AZ State Championship in my category while simultaneously racing in Stand Up Paddleboarding, either winning or on the podium for all of my races.

Causes I Care About: Athritis/Rheumatoid Arthritis as both my parents suffer from this. Arthritis is painful. It prevents us from leading active, healthy lifestyles. It means we are more likely to develop other serious illnesses. And it means we need to fight harder!

Why Tifosi?: No matter what the sport, Tifosi has a style that fits the individual athlete, while providing an affordable and versatile product with quick lens change out, and of course, making me look good in any and all sports I participate in!

Words I Live By: Ride to eat. Eat to ride!

Favorite Accomplishment: Solo breakaway win for 25 miles in a Cat 3 road race!

A Goal that Stokes Me: Athletic achievements are great but my goal is to continue being an advocate in the local cycling community by helping others and organizing events. And climbing big mountains.

Causes I Care About: I am a huge animal lover. I am involved in our local Humane Society with their various fund raising events. I also plan and coordinate funding raising and volunteer events for our local United Way chapter.

Reason(s) Why I Train: I first started training to eat. I love eating! My competitive nature took over and I started racing. I am now a Cat 3 road racer who trains 6-7 days a week and have built a reputation in the community for my success.

Why Tifosi? I believe Tifosi provides the best value product. I am notoriously bad when it comes to caring for glasses. I break them or lose them within weeks. I was hesitant to spend money on cycling glasses but decided to give Tifosi a try. I have not damaged or lost any and I still keep buying them. I now own 7 pair! I have turned quite a few people that I ride with on to Tifosi and they all have thanked me for the recommendation!

Triathlon Half Ironmans

Words I Live By: Be stubborn about your goals, but flexible about your methods.

Favorite Accomplishment: I am most proud that I raced my first half ironman after the birth of my son. I am proud to be a single working mom (scientist), and a triathlete.

A Goal that Stokes Me: I don't finish races first, or last. Every season that I train for triathlons I push myself to be better. I want my son to see me working hard to reach my goals of getting stronger and healthier every day.

Causes I Care About: I support causes that encourage female participation in sports. Last weekend I volunteered at a women's trail race that motivated young girls to start running trails. I was so happy to watch all the kids get so excited about running in the dirt.

Reason(s) Why I Train: I train because it is more fun and motivating than just "exercising". I train because I need to burn off the competitive energy somehow. I train because I have a 5 year old son, and if I didn't I wouldn't be able to keep up! 🙂

Why Tifosi? I'm a single mom and I don't have a lot of money. When I buy a product I want it to work and be high quality. I have been so happy with your cycling glasses...they protect my eyes and don't cost a lot of money. Oh...and they make me look fast (that's the most important part).

A Goal that Stokes Me: Right now its breaking 3 hours at the Houston Marathon on Jan 14, 2018. For 2018, i want to continue to just be better than i was the day before - through training, nutrition, recovery, you name it. That goal is enough to have me wake up every morning driven and excited to get after it.

Favorite Accomplishment: Having my daughter Nadine in August 2016. The joy i get from her is indescribable and no accomplishment out side of that can ever be greater.

Causes I Care About: Heart Health and specifically Congenital Heart Defects in Young Kids since my daughter just had heart surgery due to it and then Health and Wellness for Families since if you are not healthy you cannot experience life to the fullest.

Why Tifosi?: Incredible selection of good looking Glasses that are of an OUTSTANDING quality and at a price point that is very affordable.

Words I Live By: Train hard, race easy.

Favorite Accomplishment: Completing my first Ironman race.

A Goal that Stokes Me: One day getting to race in Kona.

Causes I Care About: I coach and train with Team Challenge for Crohn's and Colitis Foundation.

Reason(s) Why I Train: I was at a low point in life post divorce, living unhealthy, most overweight and out of shape to date. Friend convinced me to start running, which lead into trying a triathlon and the rest in history. It truly is a lifestyle not a sport and it saved me. I am a runner and triathlete and plan to be for the rest of my life. Taking on challenges that you previously viewed as beyond your grasp and then achieving those goals makes you better in all areas of life. Find your limits and then push past them.

Why Tifosi? Stylish, ultra lite, durable, interchangeable lenses, no fog on my ride. Everything I was unable to find in one brand until Tifosi.

Words I Live By: Keep moving forward in pursuit of what sets your soul on fire

Favorite Accomplishment: Winning the Kiawah Island Olympic triathlon. I was 8 months postpartum and it was a goal I set for myself prior to having my son to be back in competitive shape by that race. I faced a lot of adversity and challenges leading up to that day (including a power outage and a struggle to save all the frozen milk from my freezer early that morning) but was able to put everything out of my mind on the starting line, and race an event I knew I had trained hard for and was prepared to compete in.

A Goal That Stokes Me: Finishing my first 70.3 in two weeks!

Causes I Care About: Charleston Moves, Pedals 4 Peanuts, LAPS (Lowcountry Aquatic Swim Program)

Reasons Why I Train: I think taking care of yourself is one of the best things you can do it you want to take care of others. I want to set an example for myself and my community that you can work hard towards your goals regardless of where you are at in your life and what struggles you might be facing. I am a single mom & work full time, and have many many excuses as to why I am too busy or tired to train on any given day. For me it comes down to the lessons I want to teach my child about not giving up, working hard, and achieving the goals you set out towards.

Why Tifosi: I love the product. I had previously been working for a swim, bike, run, retail store in Mount Pleasant and was introduced to the product. It’s been the only sunglass brand I’ve worn since (casual, bike & run). I think that these glasses are the best on the market by far.

Words I Live By: “Instruction is the ability to provide knowledge, Teaching is the delivery system & Coaching is ensuring that knowledge becomes learned.” It's truly important that players in sports receive top quality coaching along the way as they develop into athletes.

Reasons Why I Coach: I love what I do. I'm passionate about helping people. I enjoy helping people overcome their fears and reach their true athletic potential.

A Goal that Stokes Me: Watching any player succeed whether it be a 4yr old student or a tour player. Helping people is what I'm about.

Favorite Accomplishment: Putting a smile on that golfers face after they really crush it for the first time and seeing their enjoyment.

Causes I Care About: I care about changing people's lives. I want to see them succeed on every level. The mind is a powerful thing and many players tend to get in their own way from a performance perspective. This is always a tough step for athletes but they can overcome it. I enjoy helping out and supporting anything to do with cancer as it has personally affected my family along with any youth development programs.

Why Tifosi?: The quality and performance from Tifosi is outstanding both on and off the course. I couldn't be happier in partnering up with this fantastic company and look forward to a long term relationship supporting the brand.

Activity: Weapons and Tactics Instructor / Strength and Endurance Athlete and Coach

Words I Live By: Techniques Vary. Principles are solid.

Reason(s) Why I Train: Initially physical training was the means to the end, an essential part of my military work. While deployments are less likely for me at this point, the same fitness I maintained throughout my military career now enables me to do nearly anything I choose. Whether it be a triathlon, backcountry hunt, mountaineering, shooting competitions or an ultra marathon, I train so I can get outside and do.

A Goal that Stokes Me: Completing the BigFoot 200 mile ultra marathon.

Favorite Accomplishment: The 666 Challenge (600lbs Squat, 600lbs Deadlift and a sub-six minute 1 mile run on the same day) at 40 years old.

Causes I Care About: Readying the next generation of special operations troopers for the next generation of missions.

Why Tifosi?: Capabilities and Value. I have been provided many high end sunglasses during my career. None of which compare to Tifosi's fit, features, and price. The Fototec lenses allow for having one pair of glasses that will go from daylight to night, when it is time to switch to night vision devices. Glasses like the SEEK, having no frame, do not obstruct your field of view when in the prone or in aero position on the cycle. You get all of this at a price point that is often half the cost of other eye protection.

A goal that Stokes me: Repeating as the 3 Gun Nation National Heavy metal Champion.

Why Tifosi? Tifosi glasses are simply the most comfortable and clear glasses I have worn in over 12 years participating in the shooting sports. Not only do I feel they are better than other glasses on the market, they are available to the consumer at a fair price that everyone can afford.

Activity: Hunting, competitive shooting, fishing, hiking and just being outdoors Words I Live By: If you’re not having fun with it, change it!

Reason(s) Why I Train: A very wise man once told me, the first day you stop learning is the last day of your career. I view training the same way. Be it training on the gun range, weight room or running a trail. You train to learn, improve, and find your edge in an effort to continually improve and not be accepting of the status quo.

A Goal that Stokes Me: To never stop being me. That may sound odd, but being genuine and you regardless of where you are, who you are with and the environment you are in is an incredible trait that I value in myself and others. My goal is to never lose sight of that or act otherwise.

Favorite Accomplishment: Making my first top 20 finish at a Major 3-Gun match in 2016.

Causes I Care About: I volunteer a lot of time with veteran’s groups, both through the veteran’s network at my place of employment and moreso personally. I am very active in support and assisting of the Task Force Dagger Foundation.

Why Tifosi?: Several reasons actually. Fit. I have a smaller profile and having a shield type frame that I don’t need a hat to secure on my head is a nice change in the world of shooting glasses. The HC red lenses really do make targets pop on the range, especially in changing background and conditions. I have had 3 eyes surgeries and understand the value of protecting your eyesight. Having a company that understand and is dedicated to true ANSI rating and not just a pair of good looking glasses is important to me. For years I have searched for a pair of glasses that were comfortable for 10 plus hours of wearing on the range while not prone to fogging up, especially in the humidity the south has to offer. The lens design of the Blockades delivered that and I was instantly sold on them. Lastly, with the inception of the Tifosi Tactical line, I saw an opportunity to become a parting in helping a company develop, grow and improve, something I strive on and genuinely enjoy.

Reason(s) Why I Train: To continue to progression in the shooting community and to constantly push myself to the next level.

A Goal that Stokes Me: To win a major match.

Favorite Accomplishment? Taking a long range stage win at a major match. Living in Michigan hinders my ability to practice past 100 yards, so winning a stage that had shots out to 425 yards was something I had been chasing for the last couple years.

Causes I Care About? Ryan Rocks Outdoor Adventures and Task Force Dagger are the two charities I have worked with since I started shooting.

Why Tifosi? I had been searching for a company that offers a wide range of adjustability to get the glasses to fit correctly and interchangeable lenses while maintaining an affordable price. Tifosi delivered, not only for shooting glasses but also for day to day use.
