Words I Live By: As a learner and leader of organizational leadership, I live by words associated with growth mindset including perseverance, grit, and determination. I am always striving to get better at what I’m doing. Carol Dweck (2006), a leading expert on growth mindset states that “becoming is better than being.”

Favorite Accomplishment: To date, my favorite accomplishment has been becoming an ultramarathoner. While I am proud to say I have run every distance through a 50K, the sky is the limit and I’m excited for whatever comes next.

A Goal that Stokes Me: With the COVID-19 pandemic, my work situation went to a completely online format. Rather than going to schools and working face-to-face with educators, I suddenly found myself working with educators through an entirely online format. Even with the transition to working from home and having to build new content, as well as write a dissertation, I was able to hammer out 150 running miles during the month of May - my highest monthly distance yet! I’m excited to top this during the month of June! Running helps me focus my thoughts and also serves as a nice mental break.

Causes I Care About: Having family members who have struggled with mental health disorders, I am very much an advocate for mental health awareness. This has sparked much of my work with schools in understanding how the brain learns and processes information. I am also very active in the planning and implementation of the Mental heath awareness 5K my running club sponsors.

Reason(s) Why I Train: I train because of the way it makes me feel before, during, and after. Training helps me set goals, compete with myself (physically and mentally), and measure my personal progress. I train to better myself and set a positive example of health, fitness, and personal growth for my kids.

Why Tifosi?: Tifosi is dedicated to quality and innovation - always reinventing affordable eyewear for athletes at every caliber. As an amateur athlete, I am always reinventing myself and working to get better. I have always appreciated the quality eyewear from Tifosi and it has been a constant for me in sun, fun, and run. I would love the opportunity to promote a product I believe it and wear in all that I do.

Favorite Accomplishment: 14 x Boston qualifier.

A Goal that Stokes Me: To complete a full ironman

Causes I Care About: Equality and anti bullying.

Reason(s) Why I Train: I started running at the age of 13. I was cut from the softball team two years in a row because I was afraid to catch those pop flies! My coach told me about cross country and I started running the next fall. I have never stopped since and I'm now 40. I am the strongest I've ever been! Becoming a runner has changed my entire life. I went from a scrawny teen to the hometown hero making headlines in my local newspaper. I went from an ADHD hyperactive kid to a focused educator. It's all because I have running. It's my outlet. It's my antidepressant. It's my life.

Why Tifosi?: Best quality and styles. No slip when I sweat!

Hometown: Boynton Beach, FL

Activity: Running, cycling and swimming (in that order!)

Words I Live By: Live, love and learn!

Reason(s) Why I Train: Because I love to eat! Okay, not the main reason but a part of it. I like to feel healthy and love the feeling I get from a good workout. I travel a lot for work and it’s always great to see a city while running through it! Plus, I am lucky enough to have my fiancée as one of the best training partners and I need to be able to keep up with her in the marathons we run together!

A Goal that Stokes Me: The main goal I have at the moment is to run all the World Marathon Majors with a time less than 4:00:00. London is the only one left on the list I have yet to get into and run although my time for New York City was just over four hours so I’ll be back to the boroughs again too! Secondary to that is to train for my first Ironman.

Favorite Accomplishment: The accomplishment I am most proud of is completing my first 70.3 triathlon. I had barely trained for the swim but worked hard at running and biking and managed a time just over 6:00:00! My first 50 mile running event is a close second although that was more painful!

Causes I Care About: I ran the New York Marathon raising money for Team for Kids as I love that they give kids the chance to learn to love running and to stay healthy! I try to inspire those around me and that charity gave me an opportunity to do the same for kids I’d not even met. I’ll also run any races that raise money for heart disease or diabetes as I’ve lost family members to both diseases.

Why Tifosi?: Tifosi was the very first pair of running sunglasses I bought when I first started running in 2009 and I have been a fan ever since! I have very sensitive eyes when it comes to bright sunshine and living in Florida it was important to have the right lens to allow me to see well and Tifosi has always delivered. I often have to run at the end of the day in lower light and the Fototec lenses are perfect for those runs!

Words I Live By: Race motto: Start slow, Run hard & ALWAYS WAHOO! ... NO WAHOO! left behind. There is room for everyone in the running community whether you are a walker, jogger, or runner.

Favorite Accomplishment: First time Boston qualifying and will be running in 2020.. Ran a 3:20 marathon. Nearly an hour faster than my first marathon.

A Goal that Stokes Me: I want to qualify for Boston in every age category. ( long term goal ) Short Term: Sub 1:30 half marathon and 3:L15 marathon.

Causes I Care About: In August of 2017, my business partner, Christie Thomas and I established WAHOO! RUNNING and began coaching athletes. Christie brings years of knowledge and 20 plus marathons of experience. Where I come into play is that I have an incredible skill of connecting people and building community. We love to inspire people to move and move well. We train athletes from walking a 5k to running 3 hour marathons. It doesn't matter who you are, we want to help you become a better version of yourself. The two of us make magic happen. It’s no surprise we call it WAHOO! Magic. We are changing people’s lives on a daily basis.

Reason(s) Why I Train: I started running because it was unfamiliar territory and I wanted to try something I wasn't good at. I was always involved in sport growing up and was lucky enough to play college volleyball. When I graduated college, I was looking for a new challenge and running sparked my interest.... so I signed up for a marathon.. HAHA. Go big or go home. I fell in love with the 26.2 distance and really haven't looked back since. Running has brought so many incredible people into my life including my business partner, Christie. We love running and people so much that we started the company WAHOO! Running together. We recently launched an online running community at crew.wahoorunning.com. Our community is designed to connect, coach, inspire, train and inform runners. We want our athletes to work hard and find joy in running. We have athletes all over the country who share our vision. We are builders in our local community and across the nation through our online network. WAHOO! RUNNING impacts kids and adults of all ages. Pick WAHOO! Running and we will bring WAHOO! magic to Tifosi.

Why Tifosi?: We were first introduced to Tifosi by Clint Owens, one of your Oklahoma ambassadors. He has done an incredible job of sharing the Tifosi love. Christie and I have an unbelievable community of WAHOO! runners that we love to share amazing products with. A few reasons why we would be a great fit is because we can bring more people to love the Tifosi brand and sunglasses. As runners we love ALL the sunglasses. Tifosi’s selection is some of the best we have seen for all sports and of course the fact that they are shatter proof and polycarbonate lenses is just a bonus for us runners. Lets connect and get more runners, using Tifosi.

A Goal that Stokes Me: Qualifying for the 2020 Olympic trials in the marathon.

Causes I Care About: Type 1 Diabetes - finding a cure - my 9 year old was diagnosed a year ago with Type 1 diabetes.

Reason(s) Why I Train: Running has given me the confidence to be who I was meant to be in this world. I train to challenge myself. I train because it is the thing in life that gives me my personal space and time.

Why Tifosi? Tifosi works. I need eye protection without the distraction of feeling like something is on my face. I'm a minimalist runner - and these feel good and they look awesome.

Words I Live By: Do justly, love mercy, and run humbly.

Favorite Accomplishment: After running a marathon with a BQ in mind, I was only able to give myself less than a minute buffer--it was about 35 degrees with sleet, rain and 35 mile per-hour gusts (I had every excuse) to chalk that up to a victory and call it "good enough." However, I knew that wouldn't cut it; so I scheduled another marathon 2 months later and cut about 9 minutes off my time sending me to the 2018 Boston Marathon. That Boston Marathon goes on record as having some of the worst weather in the history of the race; that first BQ prepared me for every second.

A Goal that Stokes Me: Run marathons in every world major, every continent, and every state.

Causes I Care About: Clean Water, Anti-Trafficking, Poverty Alleviation, Jesus

Reason(s) Why I Train: I love a challenge: I’m extremely goal-oriented and I’m at my best when I’m competing against myself. I’ve been a runner since junior high, and a three-sport athlete in high school. I started to take running seriously when I began to woo my wife, who is also a runner. In college, she was very busy and we didn’t have a lot of time to spend together, so I became a runner to spend time with her. It was then that I fell in love with her, as well as the ability to push myself to new limits. Since that point, I’ve competed in triathlons, 5Ks, marathons, an adventure race, and various other distances—I love this stuff. I recently finished both the Boston and Chicago Marathons and intend to run all of the world marathon majors. I've also found running is a compelling platform for social change and inspiring others to wellness. While training for Boston, I was able to bring dozens if not hundreds of people alongside me as we worked together to raise over $17,000 to provide clean water to children in Africa. Enough to give clean water to over 340 children, for the rest of their lives.

Why Tifosi?: Tifosi is true to themselves as a brand and their customers. Their sunglasses are absolutely beautiful, but you don't have to sell a kidney to get them. They also have the best interest of their athletes in mind, they don't make garbage that will last long enough to get past the warranty period; you can count on them lasting you years.

A Goal that Stokes Me: Qualifying for the Boston marathon (running a 3:35 marathon time). After that, running a sub-3 hour marathon! Never settling 🙂

Causes I Care About: I’m passionate about running for a cause that gives back to the community. I’ve ran as part of the Ronald McDonald Housing Charity and Team One Step (sending kids with cancer to camp) teams! It truly is an incredible feeling to raise funds and run for such incredible causes!

Reason(s) Why I Train: I started running as a de-stressor from college studying. Each run I’d challenge myself to run further, or a bit faster than before. I accidentally developed a love for distance running because it pushed me mentally, physically, and emotionally to put one foot in front of the other and never give up. There are no limitations in the sport either. After I accomplish one goal, the next is right on deck! I can’t wait to see where this hobby of mine will take me in 2018!

Why Tifosi?: I admire the platform that Tifosi stands for - quality, style, function, and value. Ambassadors of this brand should look to motivate, encourage, and support other individuals in their sports! One of my favorite aspects of running races is meeting others who share the same exhilarating home by that I have! Getting older is not easy as I feel like I'm constantly dealing with some sort of nagging injury so cross training and finding new innovative ways to stay in shape is crucial.

Words I live by? Pain is temporary but quitting is forever!

Reason why I train? I run because I can. I train hard to see if I can do something I once thought was impossible. A healthy body creates a healthy mind!

A goal that stokes me? To continue to travel the world and run as many marathons as I can in as many cities as I can. Next Major is Chicago 2019. Boston will be mine!

Favourite accomplishment? For me completing the TCS NYC Marathon was my favourite accomplishment and not because I did well. It in fact went nothing like I had hoped. So it was perfect! Perfect in the sense that it has motivated me like nothing else in a long time. A negative that has forced a positive.

Causes I care about? Oakville Trafalgar Memorial Hospital’s Mental Health Department. OTMH’s mental health team includes approximately 120 staff and 20 psychiatrists, providing support to more than 1600 women annually, including 150 girls (17 and under.) OTMH offers care and treatment for people in our community struggling with anxiety, depression, mood and panic disorders, eating disorders and other mental health related illnesses. Also Cancer awareness. I have run races in support of breast cancer research and awareness. I have lost too many family members and friends to this illness but know many who are still fighting.

Why Tifosi? I love the brand. They were the first pair of sports glasses I bought at a local run shop and I still have them. Super durable, great looking and they don’t break the bank. I’ve tried many but nothing beats my Tifosi!

Words to Live By: "To give anything less than your best is to sacrifice the gift." - Steve Prefontaine

Reasons Why I Train: I started running as a way to stay in shape but it has become so much more than that. I now run because it's my escape. It's my joy. I run to chase goals and to improve. To push my body beyond its limits and prove just how much it can do. As a new Mom I now run to show my son how important it is to be active and go after your goals - no matter how big they may seem. To teach him to truly dream BIG!

A Goal That Stokes Me: My current goal I'm chasing is to run the Boston Marathon at 4 months postpartum. Once I've accomplished that on April 17th, I'll be focusing on continuing to chase my marathon PR. I'd love to break 3:15 and then one day my dream is to break 3:00 hours. I've got a long way to go but I keep chasing those dreams every day.

Favorite Accomplishments: First and foremost is my son - he's pretty awesome! When it comes to running - cutting 1 hour and 9 minutes off my marathon PR in one training cycle and qualify for the Boston Marathon! I work each and every day to keep chasing new accomplishments!

Causes I Care About: I love empowering women to go after their dreams. That is why I document all my training on my blog and social media. I ran through my pregnancy and postpartum and want to show women that even as a Mom you don't have to let go of your dreams. Keep training, keep focused, and you can still accomplish anything you set your mind to!

Why Tifosi: Tifosi stands for all that I do. They encourage their athletes to chase big dreams. They also provide a superior product for the athlete that goes out there every day to chase their dreams.

Why Tifosi? Beyond having great looking, quality products, Tifosi encourages healthy lifestyles for all types of different people. I love that there are many styles to fit a variety of folks and that they aren't outrageously expensive.

Words I Live By: "We rise by lifting others."

Favorite Accomplishment: Finishing The Rut 50k Ultra Skyrunner World Series Final in the top 10 (Female Overall) was by far one my favorite accomplishments this past summer. Considered one of the toughest most technical mountain races in the Country with stellar competition, it was a privilege to have experienced such a beautiful challenge.

A Goal that Stokes Me: Making my long life goal of qualifying for the Olympic Trials in the marathon into a reality is the goal I am looking forward to accomplishing this upcoming 2018. Won't stop until I make it happen.

Causes I Care About: Helping at-risk youth in underprivileged neighborhoods around the Los Angeles area achieve their goal of training for and completing the Los Angeles marathon is a cause I greatly care about. The running program is called Students Run L.A., and the money donated and time volunteered by caring people like myself has impacted the lives of thousands of youth in a positive way.

Reason(s) Why I Train: Seeing and motivating change in myself and in others is one of the most significant reasons for why I train. As I am working to qualify for the Olympic trials in the marathon this upcoming year, I want others to realize that they too can accomplish any goal they set their mind to.

My goal is that my positivity, commitment, grit, and perseverance empowers people to run and be active. And to be courageous as they chase after their personal goals one step at a time. This makes my journey as a runner a much more gratifying experience.

Why Tifosi?: As a runner living in sunny Southern California and spending many hours a week running on the trails and roads, protective eyewear is essential. I came across a pair of Tifosi sunglasses while shopping for good quality eyewear at REI this past summer. I loved the stylish comfortable fit while using them on my runs. I then learned more about Tifosi optics and realized that not only is the company committed to offering customers high quality eyewear, but they are also dedicated at teaming up with passionate athletes like myself to enhance and promote their brand through this ambassador program; all while contributing in helping the athletes achieve their goals. This has motivated me to want to promote Tifosi on social media, in group runs with friends, or in casual conversations with my fellow outdoor enthusiasts. Whether chasing PR's on a road marathon, a Mountain Ultra trail race, or simply on a trail hike, I want to exemplify how Tifosi Optics is there to enhance my performance with quality comfort and style.

Such a sense of companionship sharing the pain of the race. Some of my best friendships were made in the finish chute! I love the energy of race day! Training makes all of that possible. 35 races into this year with 3 months left....can I hit 52? I hope so!!! It's race season in Virginia Beach!!!

Favorite Accomplishment: Marine Corps Marathon 2019 Finisher

A Goal that Stokes Me: Running the Boston Marathon

Causes I Care About: Finding a cure for Alzheimer's

Reason(s) Why I Train: I was not a runner. I never thought I could be a runner. I was inspired by my mother who was a marathoner to lace up my shoes and run. Unfortunately, she passed away from a degenerative brain disease before being able to see me cross a marathon finish line. The first marathon I ever completed was the Marine Corps Marathon (the only marathon my mom ran) continuing my mother's running legacy. I ran the marathon on Oct. 27, 2020 just days after my 27th birthday! My mother would be so proud. Marathon training has brought me so much closer to mother's spirit and helped me heal in ways I didn't think were possible. It's safe to say I'll keep running, until I can't anymore. Post marathon training, I've continue to run between 15-20 miles weekly. I have my own runner's IG account @runwithwu and inspire friends and followers to run. Being able to motivate people to make healthy choices and live their best life is what I'm all about. I also completed 3 half marathons, 1 x 18 miler, and dozens of other virtual races while in quarantine during COVID-19. I always wear Tifosi while running...truly my favorite sunglasses!

Why Tifosi?: These are my absolute favorite sunglasses. I only wear Tifosi, because they fit my Asian face perfectly without giving me a headache or eye pain. Also, Tifosi are so sleek and well made. Never wearing any other brand!!! Obsessed!!

Training also gives me something to look forward to every day. When I am out on the single track, I can find my peace of mind, let loose and have fun!

Words I Live By: ‪My promise is to leave others, empowered and enabled and present to their own greatness, if that is present in every conversation I am integrity.

Favorite Accomplishment: Being the 2nd female to complete Infantry school for the U.S. Army.

A Goal that Stokes Me: an IRONMAN!!

Causes I Care About: I care deeply about soldiers living big lives, being free to be and free to act in all areas of their life. Could you imagine every soldier being empowered and what an Army of empowered Soldiers would look like? I also imagine an Army that exists for humanitarian efforts versus war. I care that each and every human being experiences love.

Reason(s) Why I Train: January 1st of this year when I looked at what was missing from my life that could make a powerful difference, I saw that being committed was missing. Basically, I am a committed person and I wanted to breathe life into being committed to something, like really. I thought what would have being committed show up and that was a Triathlon, so I have been training since January 1, since COVID 19 has hit I haven't been swimming and that's going to happen soon with pools opening up again! What I've discovered through cycling is that when I am on my bike nothing else exists and that feeling is magic and I want more magic!

Why Tifosi?: A friend of mine had Tifosi he mentioned they are pretty great, I also love to support local business and the cycling shop in town carries a lot of Tifosi, it took me an hour to decide which I wanted. They are perfect, no fuss eye wear at a great price AND they came with 3 lenses. I loved that.

Words I Live By: Sound body, sound mind.

Reason(s) Why I Train: To feel alive.

A Goal that Stokes Me: Training as hard as I can to peak for a specific event — and being in the zone during a race.

Favorite Accomplishment: Winning the Sea Otter Classic Criterium a few years ago. Prior to the start I dedicated the race to my dad who had passed away just a week prior. I actually didn’t know if I was going to race and at the start line I was a total wreck. I had been bottling up my feelings for days. And when I raced, I rode on pure emotions, leaving everything out on the course. While this wasn’t the biggest victory of my life, it carries the most meaning to me. I suppose that being admitted to the California Bar as an attorney ranks up there too.

Why Tifosi?: Value and quality. For years I have enjoyed the high speed red fototec (photochromatic) lenses for early morning rides in Pebble Beach, where half the ride is sunlight and the other half is in a drizzling cloud. The Marzens are my go-to glasses for hanging out at the beach or poolside, or just driving in the California sun. And more recently I have really come to appreciate the interchangeable lens options on the Escalates.

Favorite Accomplishment: Being featured in People Magazine for my "Flanigram's" which had led to a feature story on Good Morning America and is now leading to a feature story on CBS's The Doctors.

A Goal that Stokes Me: Biking a century ride in October for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation

Causes I Care About: Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation and Give Kids the World. Both are near and dear to my heart as my daughter is a type 1 diabetic and I work in entertainment for Disney and have a close connection to GKTW

Reason(s) Why I Train: During the Covid pandemic, I started biking more miles than usual and decided to start stopping at friends and co workers homes, ring their bell and back up 10 feet to deliver a surprise "Flanigram" a singing telegram letting them know that I was there to get a 'Hello" and let them know how far I biked for one of their smiles. The mission took off and people were sending me their addresses to receive a "Flanigram". Since this all started I have biked 4285 miles and delivered 347 "Flanigrams". I have biked in 14 different states and have posted my journey on Facebook (Billy Flanigan) and Instagram (@thebillyflanigan) all the while wearing my Tifosi sunglasses. While I was in Kentucky, my sunglasses were taken out of a restaurant and I was devastated. I was able to replace them and now all is well with my biking world. I am ready to continue my mission while I am furloughed from Walt Disney World, where I am a performer in the Finding Nemo the Musical show, and plan on visiting hundreds of more people and biking thousands of more miles to make it happen.

Why Tifosi?: I have had several pairs of Tifosi sunglasses because I can change the lenses out to fit my needs. I bike at night so being able to put on the clear lenses has been an eye saver as I live in buggy Florida. My Tifosi's don't fog up if I have to bike with a mask on and they are so comfortable. Never sliding off.

Favorite Accomplishment: My favorite accomplishment having my daughter and wife!

A Goal that Stokes Me: One of my many goals that really gets me stoke is becoming one of the top racers in New Mexico.

Causes I Care About: I care about helping people. Currently I am enrolled in Physician Assistant school because I gain a tremendous amount of experience helping people when I served in the military and now I want to make an impact by helping people in my communities maintain their health and wellness.

Reason(s) Why I Train: I am a competitor and I love pushing myself past what I thought my limits were. I was always pushed when I was in the military serving as a pararescueman and after exiting I found cycling. Cycling has helped me stay fit and motivated to compete. It has also let me become involved and a part of a community that I was new too after serving.

A Goal that excites Me: Any goal that I set to accomplish and then train for said goal to get my best results. Currently, I'm training for the Police and Fire World Championship. It excites me to be able to represent my town, state, and country on the biggest stage (for public safety personnel).

Favorite Accomplishment: I have many accomplishments that stand out in my mind, but I would probably have to say my favorite was winning the 2010 Western State Police and Fire Nationals.

Causes I Care About: Diabetes..I lost my mom to this awful disease and hope some day we find a cure so no other family has experience a loss due to it.

Why Tifosi?: Tifosi sunglasses are versatile, stylish, and affordable. Also for me living in AZ, it's very important to have sunglasses that protect your eyes.

Words I Live By: Let yourself be silently drawn by the stronger pull of what you really love. -Rumi

Reason(s) Why I Train: To keep up with fellow ambassador, Rob Griffin, my husband. Lol. I train to keep my body and my mind the best they can be for overall well-being, and to motivate others that you can directly change yourself to lead healthier and therefore more fulfilling lives . Whatever your goals are, you can achieve it.

A Goal that Stokes Me: 2017 has been a year of training hard to advance to Cat 2 Mt biking racing in 2018. This requires longer ride time, pushing my body past the hurt and outside my comfort zone. In other words, embrace the suck!

Favorite Accomplishment: In my first year of mt bike racing, I won the 2016 MBAA State Series Championship and USA Cycling Mt Bike AZ State Championship in my category while simultaneously racing in Stand Up Paddleboarding, either winning or on the podium for all of my races.

Causes I Care About: Athritis/Rheumatoid Arthritis as both my parents suffer from this. Arthritis is painful. It prevents us from leading active, healthy lifestyles. It means we are more likely to develop other serious illnesses. And it means we need to fight harder!

Why Tifosi?: No matter what the sport, Tifosi has a style that fits the individual athlete, while providing an affordable and versatile product with quick lens change out, and of course, making me look good in any and all sports I participate in!

Words I Live By: Ride to eat. Eat to ride!

Favorite Accomplishment: Solo breakaway win for 25 miles in a Cat 3 road race!

A Goal that Stokes Me: Athletic achievements are great but my goal is to continue being an advocate in the local cycling community by helping others and organizing events. And climbing big mountains.

Causes I Care About: I am a huge animal lover. I am involved in our local Humane Society with their various fund raising events. I also plan and coordinate funding raising and volunteer events for our local United Way chapter.

Reason(s) Why I Train: I first started training to eat. I love eating! My competitive nature took over and I started racing. I am now a Cat 3 road racer who trains 6-7 days a week and have built a reputation in the community for my success.

Why Tifosi? I believe Tifosi provides the best value product. I am notoriously bad when it comes to caring for glasses. I break them or lose them within weeks. I was hesitant to spend money on cycling glasses but decided to give Tifosi a try. I have not damaged or lost any and I still keep buying them. I now own 7 pair! Words I Live By: The only thing constant in life is change. For as long as there's truth to that statement, the pursuit to be better than I was yesterday will continue to motivate me.

Favorite Accomplishment: My favorite cycling related accomplishment occurred in June 2019 when I completed my first solo century. I had just become serious about cycling at the end of October 2018, so this feat was a big deal for me. In retrospect, my fitness level was not where it should have been before attempting this ride, but I pushed through. As one can imagine, there were several challenging moments faced during this ride. Upon completion of the ride, the sense of accomplishment was overwhelming! I was almost brought to tears as I walked into the house to find my wife and two children present me with a poster congratulating me on this accomplishment! That day reaffirmed my passion for cycling and since then, has pushed me in ways both physically and mentally that I’ve never experienced elsewhere!

A Goal that Stokes Me: A goal that stokes me is to experience an international cycling excursion. A goal within that goal would be to have my wife accompany me, as she is recently entering the world of cycling. Until then, the most immediate goal is to continue to share my love for cycling in hopes that others may be influenced and motivated to enter the community of cycling.

Causes I Care About: As a teacher, I care deeply about any cause that promotes educational equity and access to resources for underserved populations. Additionally, I find immediate connections to any cause that promotes the love and exposure of cycling, fitness, and maintaining healthy lifestyles. Having a grandfather with Alzheimer’s and a grandmother who passed from ALS, I am constantly looking for cycling fundraisers centered around raising awareness of these and many other health conditions. Most recently, during this quarantine, I have joined two different fundraising efforts focused on funding local services’ response to COVID-19 and to provide meals to those in need.

Reason(s) Why I Train: I have been into fitness since playing basketball in high school. Towards the end of college and many years beyond that, I began weight lifting and even considered pursuing it at the competitive level. I ended up not competing, but for years, weight training was my sole means of exercising. As I entered the world of cycling, I thought I wanted to train to participate in criterium racing. However since then, my whole quality of life has improved. My nutritional habits have improved, and my devotion to off-bike enrichment such as yoga and addressing muscular imbalances has peaked. In essence, I train to be the healthiest version of myself that I can possibly be. Aware of my influence among my family, and even beyond, I train to motivate others by modeling the love, community, resilience, and passion that personifies the world of cycling!

Why Tifosi?: Tifosi was the first brand of cycling sunglasses I tried. My local bike shop, Race Pace, sells Tifosi and for a while, every time I entered the store, I would try on a new pair of Tifosi cycling glasses. Every pair I own checks all the boxes: comfortable, affordable, great fit for the shape of my face, and definitely stylish! After purchasing several pairs of Tifosi cycling sunglasses, I ended up giving away my other brand of glasses to my brother. I have had no need to look anywhere else for cycling sunglasses!!

Words I Live By: Passion, Excitement, Resilience, Determined, Happiness, Competitor

Favorite Accomplishment: It’s really hard to narrow it down to one, so I will give two. First being the “Daisy” award I won as a nurse, I was nominated by my patient for extraordinary nursing, and that is important to me because I was able to impact a persons life in a positive way, and that’s what nursing is all about. The second is related to cycling, it was a race I completed called the Eurekan 62 miles, 4.8k of climbing and I did it with only 4 weeks of training as a cyclist period. So for me to finish that race was a definition of my never give up character. It was extremely hard. But it’s a mind over matter issue I had to overcome because the only thing holding you back is what you mind thinks you can and can’t do. Break that barrier and you can do anything.

A Goal that Stokes Me: A goal that stokes me would be to join a cycling team, travel the United States, and manifest good health and happiness that comes from a healthy lifestyle.

Causes I Care About: I care about health, fitness, and happiness.

Reason(s) Why I Train: I train for the challenge, the fitness, and the people I interact with from races, being in town at a bike shop, and people at work because if you’ve been around me for more than a few minutes you know what my hobbies are and what I like to do. Being in healthcare as a nurse you see what bad health and habits can do to a person and not just that single person but, the entire family is affected as well. So as a nurse we are the biggest health advocate for our patients. I train and stay fit so that when I give them advice they actually listen because I am fit as well and if I wasn’t and I was giving them advice on diets etc it would be hypocritical if I was telling them one thing and doing another.

Why Tifosi?: I chose Tifosi because it’s the best brand. When I’ve been into cycling stores I always see your brand. They are realistically priced and excellent quality. I would be honored to represent your brand and to spread this amazing product throughout my community. Thank you for your time!

Sport: Track & Field + Bike

Words I Live By: It only takes you believing in yourself to get this thing done!

Favorite Accomplishment: Obtaining my bachelor of science in computer science and business adminstration

A Goal that Stokes Me: To become the strongest version of myself. I no longer specilize in any one sport, but I aspire to continue competing in track & field while training for my first cross country mountain bike race (I've been riding bikes since I was three!)

Causes I Care About: I have a passion for mentorship and giving back to those less fortunate than I. I often speak at various instituions about my path to becoming a full-time software engineer while running a freelance business and maintaining an online presence (17k subscribers on YouTube).

Reason(s) Why I Train: From an early age I have always led an active lifestyle. While my first love of sports was baseball, I never turned down the opportunity to compete in anything and everything. Just for fun, I've played everything from football to basketball and have been adept at everything from swimming to skating. Since before I could even ride a bike, I just loved to move and get outdoors! As a I grew older, two aspects of my fitness-focused life became more prominent. I loved, and of course still do, to run and bike. I remember first riding a bike without training wheels since about the age of three, which was likely not long after I learned to even walk! As time went on, I never lost my love for biking while I trained for track and field and competed in that sport (sprints and hurdles). I train for the lost of movement, fitness and the drive to get better each and every day. To be able to train for the sports I love is a gift, and I'm grateful for it every day.

Why Tifosi?: Tifosi is a brand that exudes value. Way back when, when I didn't have the money to buy an expensive (and frankly overpriced) pair of sunglasses, Tifosi was always a solid option for me. I still remembering purchasing Tifosi sunglasses from the Performance Bikes store. Reason(s) Why I Train: Finding and tackling the next big challenge. My friends and I rode across Michigan from bottom to top 333 miles ending at the Mackinaw Bridge in 18.5 hrs...for fun. Coming up with and completing the next "bad idea ride" is always driving me to keep my fitness topped off to be ready for that next insane grind.

Why Tifosi?: Great quality. Great style. Awesome flexibility with interchangeable lenses and FOTOTEC. Amazing value for the price. Tifosi is a no brainer.

Favorite Accomplishment: In my MBA class of ~800 at Columbia, I was the sole recipient of a prestigious leadership award for my activism and service.

A Goal that Stokes Me: Completing the NYC Marathon this year as a wheelchair racer, fundraising for New Alternatives for Children

Causes I Care About: Advocacy for the chronic illness/disability community—especially musculoskeletal conditions, New Alternatives for Children (I’m on the junior board of this nonprofit, which serves kids with disabilities/chronic conditions in the NYC foster system), racial equity/DE&I

Reason(s) Why I Train: About two years ago, I developed multiple chronic musculoskeletal conditions that were triggered by a bad virus (ankylosing spondylitis and EDS). As someone who had run marathons and skied both up and down mountains, adjusting to a new body with a disability was a major challenge. But with creativity, determination, and others’ support, I’ve been able to adapt and stay active despite this new normal—from skiing, to road biking, to picking up wheelchair racing in lieu of running. Exercise is critical for staying strong with my conditions, and as it can be hard to figure out how to adapt, I also want to serve as an example to others navigating their fitness journeys with a new diagnosis or injury. I’ve loved meeting other athletes through the Achilles paratriathlon team I am part of, and supporting other friends and co-workers to reach their fitness goals.

Why Tifosi?: I have hiked, pushed, and pedaled hundreds of miles wearing my Tifosi sunglasses, and raised over $6500 along the way to support high-risk kids and musculoskeletal research/care. Tifosi sunglasses have enabled me to work towards my fitness goals, enjoy the outdoors, and have fun alongside people I love. They are my favorite pair of sunglasses and incredibly versatile. I would be so energized to represent Tifosi and show the world how amazing these sunglasses are/how they are an important part of my dynamic life!

Words I Live By: Keep moving forward in pursuit of what sets your soul on fire

Favorite Accomplishment: Winning the Kiawah Island Olympic triathlon. I was 8 months postpartum and it was a goal I set for myself prior to having my son to be back in competitive shape by that race. I faced a lot of adversity and challenges leading up to that day (including a power outage and a struggle to save all the frozen milk from my freezer early that morning) but was able to put everything out of my mind on the starting line, and race an event I knew I had trained hard for and was prepared to compete in.

A Goal That Stokes Me: Finishing my first 70.3 in two weeks!

Causes I Care About: Charleston Moves, Pedals 4 Peanuts, LAPS (Lowcountry Aquatic Swim Program)

Reasons Why I Train: I think taking care of yourself is one of the best things you can do it you want to take care of others. I want to set an example for myself and my community that you can work hard towards your goals regardless of where you are at in your life and what struggles you might be facing. I am a single mom & work full time, and have many many excuses as to why I am too busy or tired to train on any given day. For me it comes down to the lessons I want to teach my child about not giving up, working hard, and achieving the goals you set out towards.

Why Tifosi: I love the product. I had previously been working for a swim, bike, run, retail store in Mount Pleasant and was introduced to the product. It’s been the only sunglass brand I’ve worn since (casual, bike & run). I think that these glasses are the best on the market by far.

Words I Live By: Just Keep Moving

Favorite Accomplishment: After suffering a devastating bike crash (broken nose, mouth, over 40 stitches to my face, severe road rash) that landed me in the ICU, I fought my way back to fitness. 6 months after the crash I did IRONMAN 70.3 Augusta where I finished only 3 spots shy (4 minutes short) of qualifying for a pro card. I managed to have the fastest female amateur run split of the day.

Words I Live By: Seek the joy

Favorite Accomplishment: My two boys make me proud every day but that wasn't just me of course! Individually, winning my age group in a half iron distance race stands out.

A Goal that Stokes Me: There's one particular race that I'd like to win someday; the Granite Man in Wolfeboro, NH. It is a 38-year old race in memoriam of my uncle, and my family and I have been volunteering for it since its inception.

Causes I Care About: Getting kids active and outside

Reason(s) Why I Train: My boys and my wife. When I met my wife I weighed 315# and was not living a healthy life. I was never inspired enough by "looking good" to make the hard effort. It wasn't until I met her and realized that I wanted to have a long, active, fun life with her and our kids that I realized I needed to change my ways. So over the course of a few years I made dietary changes, then I started running, and then I tried my first triathlon, and I was hooked. The best part of races isn't the competition or the swag, it's when my kids are at the finish line and say that they can't wait to do a "trilathalon". Being healthy enough to race with them when they're older would be amazing.

Why Tifosi?: I am a father of two who works a regular job so I don't have time to worry about the performance of my gear, but I can't afford not to. Quality gear for a great price is the holy grail and I believe that Tifofi has nailed it.

Favorite Accomplishment: Competing at my first professional half ironman world championships in 2019 in Nice, France!

A Goal that Stokes Me: Winning a professional half ironman triathlon!

Causes I Care About: Including everyone from all different backgrounds in triathlon, preserving our environment through sustainability so that we can continue to have adventures in the outdoors!

Reason(s) Why I Train: Triathlon allows me to push myself as hard as possible beyond my perceived limits and find out what I am truly capable of. I am always looking for the next challenge and way that I can develop as an athlete. I love both the physical and mental challenge of the sport and using the sport to not only improve physically but also build my mental confidence and discipline. I am also a triathlon coach, and I love helping people succeed in the sport and learn to believe in themselves as well. I work with athletes from the very beginning levels to professionals, and each athlete gives me a different perspective and motivation. Triathlon allows me to connect with people both from all over the world and in my local community, discover adventure every day, and always be chasing goals. I feel like I'm living the dream!

Why Tifosi?: I love Tifosi because they are affordable and high quality! My glasses last me YEARS through all the hard times! In triathlon, sometimes we drop our equipment since we have to put it on so quickly between disciplines or another competitor might step on your glasses when trying to get their own equipment. Tifosi glasses have lasted me through all my crazy training and racing, so I trust them 100%!

Favorite Accomplishment: 2nd Place Boulder Ironman

A Goal that Stokes Me: Getting on the top step of the podium

Causes I Care About: California sea lion and marine mammal rescue, combating climate change, and the helping the environment in general

Reason(s) Why I Train: I competed as a professional bike racer before switching to triathlon in 2015, and have steadily risen through the pro ranks in half and full distance Ironman events since. My passion for training stems from my love of nature, being outside in the sun, and pushing myself to reach new limits. I live for the process of chipping away during training, day after day and week after week, as improvements slowly materialize. There’s not a lot in life that we can control and shape, but fitness is one of them; all it takes is the passion and mind of matter to reach your goals, or to at least grasp at them. I always hope, and believe, that my commitment and excitement about training, overall health, and being in the outdoors inspires others to give riding, running, and swimming a shot themselves.

Why Tifosi?: I first used Tifosi back in 2008 when I was new to bike racing. The bike shop I worked in at the time was a Tifosi distributor, and I ended up getting a few pairs over that and the next year. I enjoyed the style and fit of the glasses, and have always held Tifosi up as a high standard to equal when purchasing other sunglasses.

A Goal that Stokes Me: Race Across America bike ride

Causes I Care About: Early detection of lung cancer: gwenmann.org

Reason(s) Why I Train: Yasir Salem is a man on a mission. Starting with the NYC marathon in 2018, Yasir will run 50 marathons in 50 states, ending with the NYC marathon in 2019. He is taking on this enormous feat to honor his late wife, Gweneviere (Gwen) who passed away in July two months after a diagnosis of stage 4 lung cancer. In running the races, he hopes to raise money for the Gweneviere Mann Foundation, a non-profit he started after his wife, and spread awareness for early detection. He has raised over $80,000 and his journey is just beginning. While the “50 in 50” initiative may be new, distance running has been an important part of life for both Yasir and Gwen since 2008. After Gwen recovered from a meningioma brain tumor and the short-term memory loss that occurred after its removal, she and Yasir began running marathons together. Over the past eight years, they’ve completed eight marathons. She harnessed her challenges following brain surgery to inspire her music and writing and had recorded an album (Yasir and friends released a single off the album for Gweneviere for her after she passed) and was working on her memoir. Gwen became a marathon runner, tackling seven New York City marathons and the Harrisburg marathon. She didn't stop there. She then graduated with honors from NYU with a degree in creative writing, attended Juilliard for music theory, and was accepted into Columbia’s MFA program (she was due to start this Fall, 2018 semester). 10 years after being diagnosed with a brain tumor, a rare form of lung cancer took her life on July 22, 2018 at the age of 47. Yasir’s journey officially began with the 2018 NYC Marathon, and we’d love your help and support in telling both his and Gwen’s story with the hope that it could change someone’s life and encourage them to take action for early detection.

Somewhere along the line I became someone who can help others and inspire them to also become a better self. Activity: Weapons and Tactics Instructor / Strength and Endurance Athlete and Coach

Words I Live By: Techniques Vary. Principles are solid.

Reason(s) Why I Train: Initially physical training was the means to the end, an essential part of my military work. While deployments are less likely for me at this point, the same fitness I maintained throughout my military career now enables me to do nearly anything I choose. Whether it be a triathlon, backcountry hunt, mountaineering, shooting competitions or an ultra marathon, I train so I can get outside and do.

A Goal that Stokes Me: Completing the BigFoot 200 mile ultra marathon.

Favorite Accomplishment: The 666 Challenge (600lbs Squat, 600lbs Deadlift and a sub-six minute 1 mile run on the same day) at 40 years old.

Causes I Care About: Readying the next generation of special operations troopers for the next generation of missions.

Why Tifosi?: Capabilities and Value. I have been provided many high end sunglasses during my career. None of which compare to Tifosi's fit, features, and price. The Fototec lenses allow for having one pair of glasses that will go from daylight to night, when it is time to switch to night vision devices. Glasses like the SEEK, having no frame, do not obstruct your field of view when in the prone or in aero position on the cycle. You get all of this at a price point that is often half the cost of other eye protection.

Reasons why I train: Never one to be satisfied with my results, I strive to improve so I can compete at the highest level.

A goal that Stokes me: Repeating as the 3 Gun Nation National Heavy metal Champion.

Favorite Accomplishment: Winning the Heavy Metal National Championship, a 3 Gun Nation Regional in Factory Division, and the Inaugural 3 Gun Nation Long Range event in the .308 division all in the same year.

Causes I care about: Teaching young people to enjoy the shooting sports and outdoor activities, making sure our nations veterans' and LEO receive the recognition they deserve for serving our country.

Why Tifosi? Tifosi glasses are simply the most comfortable and clear glasses I have worn in over 12 years participating in the shooting sports. Not only do I feel they are better than other glasses on the market, they are available to the consumer at a fair price that everyone can afford.

Activity: Hunting, competitive shooting, fishing, hiking and just being outdoors Words I Live By: If you’re not having fun with it, change it!

Reason(s) Why I Train: A very wise man once told me, the first day you stop learning is the last day of your career. I view training the same way. Be it training on the gun range, weight room or running a trail. You train to learn, improve, and find your edge in an effort to continually improve and not be accepting of the status quo.

A Goal that Stokes Me: To never stop being me. That may sound odd, but being genuine and you regardless of where you are, who you are with and the environment you are in is an incredible trait that I value in myself and others. My goal is to never lose sight of that or act otherwise.

Favorite Accomplishment: Making my first top 20 finish at a Major 3-Gun match in 2016.

Causes I Care About: I volunteer a lot of time with veteran’s groups, both through the veteran’s network at my place of employment and moreso personally. I am very active in support and assisting of the Task Force Dagger Foundation.

Why Tifosi?: Several reasons actually. Fit. I have a smaller profile and having a shield type frame that I don’t need a hat to secure on my head is a nice change in the world of shooting glasses. The HC red lenses really do make targets pop on the range, especially in changing background and conditions. I have had 3 eyes surgeries and understand the value of protecting your eyesight. Having a company that understand and is dedicated to true ANSI rating and not just a pair of good looking glasses is important to me. For years I have searched for a pair of glasses that were comfortable for 10 plus hours of wearing on the range while not prone to fogging up, especially in the humidity the south has to offer. The lens design of the Blockades delivered that and I was instantly sold on them. Lastly, with the inception of the Tifosi Tactical line, I saw an opportunity to become a parting in helping a company develop, grow and improve, something I strive on and genuinely enjoy.

Favorite Accomplishment: Becoming a father. Best thing to ever happen to me.

A Goal that Stokes Me: Competing on the National level and being successful.

Causes I Care About: The preservation of the 2nd amendment. As well as the willingness to see everyone succeed in accomplishing their goals.

Reason(s) Why I Train: To make my family proud. To make myself proud and to ultimately beat my competition in the most professional way possible. Ultimately, no matter what happens, good or bad, learn from it and get better in the end and stay humble.

Why Tifosi?: I have been wearing Tifosi Glasses on the range for over a year now and I wouldn’t have it any other way. They are everything I look for in a set of glasses and are cost efficient. Representing a brand is easy when you fully trust the product and ultimately enjoy using it. I just wanted to say thank you for you consideration in this process and I hope I am everything you’re looking for in an ambassador. I look forward to hearing from you.

Words I Live By: Never settle.

Reason(s) Why I Train: To continue to progression in the shooting community and to constantly push myself to the next level.

A Goal that Stokes Me: To win a major match.

Favorite Accomplishment? Taking a long range stage win at a major match. Living in Michigan hinders my ability to practice past 100 yards, so winning a stage that had shots out to 425 yards was something I had been chasing for the last couple years.

Causes I Care About? Ryan Rocks Outdoor Adventures and Task Force Dagger are the two charities I have worked with since I started shooting.

Why Tifosi? I had been searching for a company that offers a wide range of adjustability to get the glasses to fit correctly and interchangeable lenses while maintaining an affordable price. Tifosi delivered, not only for shooting glasses but also for day to day use.

Favorite Accomplishment: Marrying my wife. Without her by my side all my goals and accomplishments since would not have been as successful.

A Goal that Stokes Me: Just be a good husband and ambassador to all the things I’m involved with.

Causes I Care About: Veterans 3 Gun. A non profit committed to combating Veterans suicide. I have started the Team out of Virginia and taken over as a match director to ensure my team and fellow Veterans have an outlet to shoot.

Reason(s) Why I Train: I train to show my girls things you care about don’t come easy. They come after hard work, dedication and a good support system. Without one of those you will always fall short in your goals.

Why Tifosi?: Your company designs its product for sports and add fashion. Most companies add fashion before any sense of practicality. A company with user at the front end of their product design is a company I want to help represent in my life.
