WATKINSVILLE, Ga. (March 3, 2008)-Chilly mornings may still be driving people indoors, but spring buyer’s guides have outdoor enthusiasts across the country dreaming, planning-and buying- for the upcoming season.

Thanks to editorial reviews in Backpacker and Bicycling magazines, the Tifosi Optics Ventoux will be included in those spring dreams for thousands of enthusiasts.

New for 2008, the Ventoux combines broad lens coverage with what Backpacker describes as a “form fitting shape that doesn’t pinch.” Bicycling lauded the Ventoux’s adjustable ear and nose pads as well as its interchangeable lens capability.

Both testers appreciated the Ventoux’s weight-just 24 grams-as well as its affordable price, ranging from $59.95 for standard and Fototec options to $89.98 for Polarized Fototec options. Backpacker also gave the Fototec Ventoux its “Bargain!” rating for this year’s sunglass category.
“I knew we were on to something with the Ventoux when all of our prototypes kept mysteriously disappearing after testing sessions, said Tifosi Optics owner, Joe Earley. “We underwent several tedious revisions to achieve a high level of versatility with this piece and initial feedback has been positive from athletes across all of our markets.”

Check out the Ventoux Laser Silver in the March 2008 issue of Backpacker, and the Ventoux Matte Black with Polarized Fototec Lenses in the April edition of Bicycling or online at www.tifosioptics.com/interchangeable/ventoux.html. After finding the perfect pair for your spring adventures, navigate to the dealer locator page to find the nearest Tifosi Optics retailer.

Athens, GA-The Jittery Joe’s Professional Cycling Team has finalized its roster for next season by keeping six riders from 2007 and adding five new riders.

Headlining the returning squad is Aussie captain Trent Wilson and American Neil Shirley. Neil surprised the cycling world at the end of the 2007 season by out sprinting Freddy Rodriguez for the last podium spot at the USPRO Road Race Championships behind winner Levi Leipheimer and runner-up George Hincapie. Also returning to the squad is Oregon’s powerhouse Evan Elken, Australian sprinter Cody Stevenson, Durango native Matt Shriver and Georgia’s young talent Tim Henry.

Chad Hartley is returning to the team after spending a few years with TIAA-Cref and BMC. Chad raced for The Bean Team in the first Tour of Georgia in 2003 where he was second by only 5 seconds to Saul Raisin for the Best Young Rider’s jersey. Jonathan Cantwell and Ryan Sullivan continue the Australian tradition on the Jittery Joe’s squad-Jonathan spent a bit of time racing for the LaGrange team in California this year and Ryan (brother of Toyota-United’s Sean) spent his time honing his racing skills in Europe.

Two American neo-pros round out the roster. Jared Barrilleaux from San Luis Obispo, CA and Ben Kneller from Durango, CO will bring youth and strength to the team.

Petersen Motorsports/White Lightning Racing and Tifosi Optics, Inc. announced a marketing and development partnership at Road Atlanta today. The two-time American Le Mans Series GT2 Driver’s Championship winning team will represent the Watkinsville, Ga. based athletic eyewear manufacturer in the American Le Mans Series.

The No. 31 MMPIE/PAWS/Petersen Holdings/Michelin Ferrari F430 GT will carry branding of the specialty sunglasses maker while drivers Peter Dumbreck (born in Scotland but living in Adderbury, England) and Dirk Müller (a native of Germany now living in Monaco) as well as Petersen Motorsports/White Lightning Racing technicians and management will wear the “Enthusiastic Eyewear”.

Tifosi Optics joins other top manufacturers such as Ferrari, Michelin Tires, MOMO USA (motorsports safety equipment and automotive products), Piloti, Inc. (shoes made with driving in mind), and Justice Brothers as technical and marketing partners of the Michael Petersen (Las Vegas, Nev.) owned team.

The relationship marks the return of Tifosi, an Italian word that describes a very dedicated group of supporters, to professional motorsports after a time with the Minardi Formula One program. The Petersen Motorsports/White Lightning Racing effort is Tifosi’s first foray into professional sports car racing and the American Le Mans Series.

Over the course of the relationship, Petersen Motorsports/White Lightning Racing will assist Tifosi Optics in the development of new products for driving and track days. The Dale White (Bozeman, MT) managed organization joins several other professional athletes and teams already partnering with Tifosi Optics. Included in Tifosi athletic lineup are the Toyota-United Pro Cycling Team, Jittery Joes Professional Cycling Team, AEG-TOSHIBA- JetNetwork Professional Cycling Team, Team Cheerwine Women’s Elite Cycling and outdoorsman and television host O’Neill Williams.

Tifosi Optics was started in the fall of 2003 after co- founders Joe and Elizabeth Earley identified a need for a high-quality, value-oriented eyewear brand in the cycling industry. In just over three years, Tifosi Optics now boasts more than 3,000 retail locations in the United States and worldwide distribution in 29 countries.

Every Tifosi model is meticulously tested by sponsored athletes and weekend warriors alike to ensure that each pair of sunglasses produced lives up to the company’s personal standards of quality. Tifosi Optics strives to develop the most user-friendly and cutting edge optics on the market so that customers can spend less time worrying about their gear and more time focusing on their passion for sports.

The Tifosi range includes interchangeable, single lens and metal frames in a variety of styles and colors to suit a broad spectrum of consumers. Every pair of Tifosi eyewear comes with a cleaning cloth and hard carrying case. Tifosi’s Fototec technology provides a changing gradient for various light levels. Its polarized technologies maximize clear vision while reducing glare and eye strain. Several models are available with a combination polarized and Fototec lens as well as prescription lenses.

The Tifosi-Petersen Motorsports/White Lightning Racing combination will debut in the American Le Mans Series at Saturday’s Tenth Anniversary of the Petit Le Mans here at Road Atlanta. Dumbreck and Müller will be joined by Lucas Luhr (born in Koblenz, Germany but now living in Ermatingen, Switzerland) in the two-time defending race winning No. 31. Dumbreck and Luhr will close the season together at the Monterey Sports Car Championships at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca on October 21.

The multi-year agreement names Tifosi as exclusive eyewear sponsor for Lincicome effective immediately.

Lincicome is part of Tifosi’s companywide objective to support women’s athletics with performance eyewear specifically designed for female faces. Tifosi Optics offers several models with narrower frames and women’s specific features such as adjustable nose pads to reduce eyelash rub.

Listed ninth on the offical LPGA money list, Lincicome will lend her name to two custom Tifosi Optics golf-specific sunglasses available in the spring of 2008.

Lincicome’s signature pieces will combine women’s specific designs with fresh colors and Tifosi’s golf lens technology.

“Brittany is a great fit for Tifosi,” said Tifosi Optics founder, Joe Earley. “She’s the girl next door, who also happens to be one of the best female golfers in the world. We’re looking forward to growing with Brittany and having her on board will definitely strengthen our efforts to become a major player in golf-specific eyewear.”

In her third season as a professional, Lincicome, 21, is recognized as one of the longest hitters on tour. She currently has two wins on the LPGA Tour and was recently named to the Solheim Cup team-the women’s version of the Ryder Cup- where she will represent the United States against the best players from Europe.

During a breakout season in 2006, Lincicome won the HSBC Women’s World Match Play Championship after dominating six consecutive matches and claimed one of the biggest purses on tour. In spring 2007, Lincicome also won the Ginn Open.

Keep up with Brittany as she finishes out the season on her homepage: www.brittany1golf.com.

WATKINSVILLE, Ga. (August 29, 2007) - The Tifosi Optics EC Fototec lens has earned top marks from the PGA Tour Partners Club Member-Tested Program.

The prestigious PGA Tour Partners Club Member-Tested Seal of Approval is given to products that receive at least a 66 percent approval rating from PGA Tour Partners Club members who agree to evaluate products and give feedback to the magazine.

Tifosi Optics EC Fototec lens with Variable Tint Technology earned an 88 percent approval rating after all member evaluations were tabulated.

The EC Fototec lens is a photochromic lens offering 100 percent UVA/UVB protection that changes tint when exposed to UV rays. This golf-specific tint starts out nearly clear, perfect for early morning tee times, and changes to a deep purple-smoke tint that provides a high amount of contrast ideal for reading greens.

The contrast-enhancing properties of the lens are also beneficial for spotting the subtle breaks of a putting green. Additionally, the EC lens darkens based on outdoor lighting conditions, so the wearer is shielded regardless of the day’s changing light levels.

PGA Tour Partners members who tested the EC Fototec lens had the opportunity to leave additional product feedback.

Product Tester Marvin Yohe said, “I have been through a lot of sunglasses to help in reading the greens. The Tifosi are the best I have found. They bring out the little subtle breaks close to the cup that I have trouble seeing.”

Nicholas Adams of Massachusetts said, “These are the first sunglasses that I have been able to wear throughout an entire round of golf. I have also been able to wear these independent of the time of day or weather condition.”

PGA Tour Partners testers were also asked to provide feedback about their playing partners’ impressions of the glasses.

Doug Quinn said his partners were skeptical that his new glasses could actually improve his game-that is until he started sinking more putts than previous rounds.

Quinn noted, “Wearing Tifosi glasses has easily taken five to six putts off my round, and that’s what it’s all about.”

The Tifosi Optics Stelvio with EC Fototec lenses is featured in the September/October issue of PGA Tour Partners Club Magazine, currently being mailed to their more than 525,000 paid subscribers. The EC Fototec lens is available in several frame options.

For more information on the EC Fototec lens and other Tifosi Optics golf technology, please visit www.tifosioptics.com.

Tifosi Optics, Inc. was founded in the fall of 2003 after Tifosi Optics President Joe Earley noticed a need for a technologically-advanced, value-oriented eyewear brand in the optics market. Tifosi Optics currently has more than 3,000 U.S. retailers and distributes in 26 countries worldwide.
