Conto joined the company nearly five years ago as customer service lead. Prior to that, he worked in other bike industry positions including bike mechanic, warehouse manager and sales staff. 

Conto will provide strategic leadership and training of Tifosi’s inside sales team to further strengthen its dealer support and service. Tifosi Optics Dominates Category in Run & Cycling Markets

WATKINSVILLE, GA (October 8, 2010) – Tifosi Optics, Inc. is the number one brand in the Run Specialty Sunglass Category and the number one brand in the Cycling Specialty Sunglass Category, in units sold, according to Leisure Trends Group RetailTRAK™ point-of-sale (POS) retail sales tracking service for Run Specialty 2010 & Cycling Specialty 2010 (H1). 

Tifosi Optics’ dominant lead in the Run Specialty Sunglass Category is based on the company enjoying a 47.71% share of all sunglass units that were sold by running specialty retailers during the first half of 2010.  In addition to being the best-selling brand so far this year, Tifosi’s sunglass unit sales grew 33% over the first half of 2009 in run specialty. Of the top 15 running sunglass models sold, 14 of those are by Tifosi Optics, including the best selling SLIP and ENVY.

Tifosi Optics, Inc. also sold the most sunglasses (23.43% of units sold) in the Cycling Specialty Sunglass Category by cycling specialty retailers in the first half of 2010. Not only is the Tifosi Optics brand selling the most sunglasses, but of the top 11 models, Tifosi Optics produces 9 of them, including the SLIP and TYRANT.  The entire brand is up 12% in both unit and dollar sales compared to the first half of 2009.
