Where can I buy spare lenses?
Any Tifosi authorized dealer can order lenses from our current year catalog. For models that are no longer available or have undergone a model revision, visit www.athleticshades.com for purchasing information.

What kind of warranty do these sunglasses carry?
Please visit the warranty page for detailed warranty information.

Do you offer replacements for damaged lenses?
Yes. Tifosi does offer a lens replacement guarantee. Click here for details.

What are polarized sunglasses?
Polarized lenses are designed to eliminate the glare that is responsible for eye fatigue and decreased vision. Tifosi polarized polycarbonate lenses offer exceptional strength compared to acrylic polarized lenses.

So how does it work? When light is reflected from shiny surfaces, it is usually horizontally polarized. The horizontal polarized light is blocked by vertically oriented polarizers in the lenses.

Please read the technology page for more information.

What are Fototec lenses?
Tifosi Fototec lenses are blended with microscopic photochromes that darken in color when in contact with UV rays. Tifosi Fototec lenses are polycarbonate and offer 100 percent UVA/UVB protection. Each of the five lens tints will darken in about 12 seconds and return to their original color in about two minutes.

Tifosi also offers two polarized Fototec lenses that combine the versatility of polycarbonate Fototec lenses with the glare eliminating properties of polarized lenses. Tifosi offers two polycarbonate Polarized Fototec tints, Smoke and Open Water Green. These tints also darken in about 12 seconds and return to their original state in two minutes.

What is UV protection?
Ultraviolet (UV) radiation is part of the natural radiation found in the invisible light spectrum. There are 3 ranges of UV: UVA, UVB and UVC. Prolonged exposure to UVA and UVB rays may increase the possibility of significant eye damage, including temporary discomfort to long-term vision problems such as cataracts. All Tifosi Optics lenses offer 100% UVA and UVB protection.

Is lens color important?
Yes! Tifosi offers a wide variety of lens tint options to suit every personal preference and outdoor lighting condition.

Grey/smoke/brown lenses show the least amount of color distortion and are perfect for use in high lighting conditions.

AC (All conditions) red lenses offer an enhanced view in cloudy or foggy weather. AC red lenses provide contrast in mid to low lighting conditions.

Yellow lenses offer an extremely bright view in overcast or rainy conditions.

Clear lenses provide the same amount of UVA and UVB protection as tinted lenses, but enable the wearer to have protection at night, or other extremely low lighting conditions.

The GT (Golf/Tennis) lens has a greenish tint that is known for its object illumination properties. This lens enhances the wearer's ability to pick up ball in flight motion.

The EC (extreme contrast) lens is ideal for situations where high contrast is a must, such as on the golf course or picking up the lines of a single track. This purple lens filters out the hazy blue light spectrum that is responsible for optical blurring and distortion.

Do any Tifosi™ Optics eyewear have options for corrective lenses?
Yes, Tifosi Optics has partnered with Carl Zeiss Vision-Kentucky to offer the Tifosi RX Program.

Please visit the Rx page for ordering, general information, and styles available.

What do the interchangeable sunglasses include?
Tifosi Interchangeable sunglasses include three or four lenses to use in different lighting conditions, an eclipse case and a microfiber cleaning bag.

Tifosi Optics offers three interchangeable lens systems: Standard, Golf and Polarized. Standard systems come with clear, smoke and AC red lenses. Some Standard systems also come with yellow lenses. Golf systems come with GT, EC and AC red lenses. Polarized systems come with one brown or smoke polarized lens, AC red and yellow.

What is Grilamid TR-90?
Grilamid TR-90 is a homopolyamide nylon characterized by an extremely high alternative bending strength, low density and a high resistance to chemical and UV damage.

For more information about Grilamid TR-90 and other Tifosi Optics technologies, please visit the technology page.

How do I apply to become a Tifosi Sponsored Athlete/Event?
All Tifosi Sponsored Athletes must submit an online proposal. Online forms can be found here for athletes and here for events.

What is the timeframe for sponsorship submissions?
Tifosi will accept athlete and team proposals from September 1, 2008 - January 1, 2009. All online proposals will be reviewed and you should receive an e-mail from a Tifosi representative regarding the outcome of your proposal within 60 days of submission, so submit early, but please only submit one proposal per athlete/team each season.

Tifosi will accept event sponsorships on an ongoing basis throughout the year. All proposals must be submitted 90 days in advance of the event. Inquiries and proposals submitted less then 90 days in advance will not be accepted.

Does Tifosi accept sponsorship proposals by mail?
In order to streamline the sponsorship process, paper proposals will no longer be accepted unless specifically asked for by a Tifosi representative. Paper proposals will not be reviewed for teams, athletes or events.

I was sponsored by Tifosi last year; do I need to submit a proposal again?
Yes. Unless noted in your contract, all Tifosi team/athlete/event sponsorships are 1 year only. All teams must submit a proposal via the online sponsorship form. Being offered sponsorship one season does not guarantee sponsorship for the next season.

Is there any specific criterion Tifosi is looking for in the proposal?
Please complete the sponsorship form fully, providing all of the information asked for. Please do not submit additional attachments or links. If more information is need during the review process, Tifosi will contact you via e-mail.

What sort of sponsorship does Tifosi offer?
Tifosi offers product and discounted product to sponsored athletes/teams/events. Under company policy, Tifosi does not sell direct to consumers, so all product discounts must be facilitated through Tifosi authorized retailers. Tifosi has full discretion as to the products offered for sponsorship purposes and cannot guarantee specific product or color requests will be honored. No backorders will be accepted on sponsorship pieces. Tifosi will not trade in or swap out product once it has been shipped.

Do you sponsor international athletes/events/teams?
